life.

Yes, but you won't find them here.

I know of one guy who backed 4 people as an experiment and part of the deal
was
he would coach them as well.  I was backed for some MTT's by some people I
play
with in real life, but avoid it now because I am not confident enough in my
abilities in that area to justify risking someone elses money.

There were people interested in taking advantage of some of the overlay
tournaments by backing some people into them. The Full Tilt weekend
guarantee tournaments that never fill up are a good example. If the
site adds $10k to the prize pool divided by 300 players, that's $33 per
player for a $100 buy-in. Why not back a play you trust that you think
is good? He gets to keep a percentage of his win, but you still have
positive EV with the overlay.

Yesterday I thought I'd give a tad bit of backing to a player I know from
another site to go to Full Tilt and play a couple $5 sngs to see if he could
win.

He went over and placed second.  The funny thing is-is that because he opened an
account and then I transfered money he could not transfer it back as FTP
declined to transfer the funds due to him not yet making a deposit.

So although my investment was good, I was hampered by a site restriction.  Only
a few bucks though that at some point I still may get back.
