I am going to Biloxi, what are the poker rooms that are currently open
and what games do they spread, tournaments?
I have heard:
Grand Biloxi
Grand Gulfport
Copa
President
Treasure Bay (may be closed?)
Thanks, quick help would be appreciated AND all opinions....especially
if anyone knows where the highest limits and best games are.

Both Grand Casino have smokefree poker rooms. They run tourneys through the
week. Check out Cardplayer mag for the complete listing in one of the ads.
President has a tourney during the week but I dont remember which day.
Biloxi Grand Casino spread 1-4-8-8 Holdem, 10-20 HE, 15/30 HE, 5-10NL
Gulfport Grand Casino spread 1-4-8-8 Holdem, 10-20 HE, 15/30 HE
Not sure what President spread.
Grand Casino tournament structure suck balls. I wouldnt play them. It a blind
doubler with 20 mins then switch to 15 mins in the later rounds.
Go to the Grand in Biloxi if you want to play higher limits.

Grand biloxi -1800 946-2949 largest room with most games
Grand Gulfport 1 800 946-7777 decent room
Copa 1 800 946-2672 small room very limited games
President 1 800 624-3000 small room mostly 1-4-8-8 and undergoing
many changes but better choice than Copa
call the rooms about tournaments and games spread
Gulfport has better week end room rates and a 6-12 with 15-30 overs
button that is a pretty good game. The 1-4-8-8 are generally a little
better players than the Biloxi but not much better. They have just
started a new 3-5 NL with a $300 minimum buy in that has a tough line up
from the one time I have seen it play. The 4-8 1/2 kill Omaha8 game is
usually a rock garden and the 10-20 Omaha8 (when it goes) has too many
"close friends" if you know what i mean
Biloxi spreads 1-4-8-8 10-20 and sometimes higher limits like 15-30
(usually with a "rock"- be sure and ask about the rock before you play).
The Omaha8 game is another rock garden most of the time and many
nights does not last long. On week ends the 1-4-8-8 game can range from
insane loose passive to shootem up wild with 1-4 players that have a
clue and the rest will draw at lotsa hands. It can be productive or you
may get killed and many times it has little to do with how you play so
be prepared for some swings. If you are not a regular player of 1-4-8-8
just be aware that it is a much different game than you might think when
compared to 4-8.
my play is almost always limited to week end so the week days may be far
different. I am driving the extra 15 minutes to Gulfport because the
Biloxi room has developed some problems that I dont like although it is
probably the best room for you to play unless a very good 6-12 is up you
alley.
if in GULFPORT ask for minus200 - they know me for my average results -$200

Minus200, I played at the Grand in Biloxi last night after a couple of years
away from it. Why have they shifted to all 1-4-8-8 games? I was very
disappointed that they didn't have a regular 4-8 game. Do they ever have
just regular 4-8, 5-10 or 6-12 at the Biloxi Grand?

Played the Biloxi Grand 6-12 game saturday about 4 hrs, pretty strong
table, a couple dealers, all "regulars"...outside of one bad beat AA-Q8
Flop Q57 Turn 3 River Q, Q8 called 18 preflop - not too much BS.
overall minus 95$.
Thanks for all the info. |
