Last summer...Whoopi Goldberg makes a joke about the "President's" name
while pointing to her nether regions; Conservatives go batshit insane;
Whoopi loses an endorsement contract:
"HollyWEIRD does NOT represent American values, or the heart and soul
of our country, in any way whatsoever!!
This election is shaping up to be a contest between anyone with decent
or Christian values and the moral FILTH and POISON represented by
HollyWEIRDE and the media and advertising community, the femiNAZIS, and
the gays. I vote NO to all of them!!!!" --post on conservative

See? Even staid old-fashioned conservatives can learn to be funny in a year.
FTR, I strongly support Bush (can't call myself a Republican but agree w/ most
positions) but I found Whoopi's joke hilarious and the resulting backlash to be
ridiculous.

Look, Orange. Some of us republicans are disgusted with this. As I've said
many times, Bush is NOT a conservative. And something is very very wrong
with this administration.
Regarding this issue, however, wtf. We're over in Iraq losing American
boys, and these assholes are making jokes about "where are those weapons of
mass destruction?" and "milking male horses?" Goddamit! We've been
attacked! Our borders are overflowing! And our economy is on the brink of
DISASTER! And it's THE REPUBLICANS IN CHARGE who are taking us down the
tubes.
Anyway, fellow republicans should be disgusted with Laura Bush's comments,
and at the very least, confused about it.

If you can't poke fun at yourself or your spouse or you president or anyone
you are a sad person. You obviously don't think Jay Leno or David Letterman
or Bill Maher are funny? I think they are hysterical, no matter which

Well, I can poke fun at myself. And I do quite frequently.
But we're in SERIOUS trouble. And many people just don't know it.
If we lose this great country of ours, if we lose our freedom, if our
economy collapses, if they shoot missiles on us, if they scrap our
sovereignty with CAFTA and the FTAA, if they disarm us, if we lose our
freedom and our great standard of living, these jokes might take on a whole
new meaning.
If you had just lost a son in Iraq, and Bush were making jokes about "where
are those weapons of mass destruction?", in front of a bunch of
hollywood-type generally liberals who aren't going to "like" him anyway,
well, how would you feel?
I have a pretty strange sense of humor, like the next guy. But we are in
TROUBLE! America is in TROUBLE! And it ain't funny.

You are correct, sir. Bush is not a conservative. Note the budget
deficits. Contrarian to conservative practice, for sure.
In regards to Laura's jokes, well, I expect nothing less from anyone
related to this administration. These are the folks who would like to
tell us what kind of values we should have. Then, of course, practice
something entirely different. I'm totally disgusted with any jokes like
the ones she made in regards to "WMD". Our people are dying every day in
Iraq because of the assertion that Iraq had these so called "WMD". In no
certain terms is any joke related to "WMD" humorous. Only disgraceful and
undignified. Lives have been destroyed because of our kids being there
because of "WMD".
The day will come in the future when historians will look back at this
administration as the worst in the history of this country. Period.

No. But I do know that this "secret power behind the throne" that I
frequently talk about, has no aversion to sacrificing ANYONE. Not even one

I though Laura Bush's joke was funny. I was surprised she said it, but it
was quite funny and "self"-deprecating. For all we know it's a true story.
Whoopi's joke was unfunny. It wasn't even a joke.It was just being crude at
the expense of the President. I don't think the two "jokes" are a good
comparison at all. |

Get a life dude there jokes. Both of them. However I do see the point that if
you are offended by whoopi's remarks you should be by laura's also. Thats true
so I really shouldn't say get a life dude I should say get a life to the Dem's
that are in a huff about laura bushs jokes and the same go's for republcans and

i hear you orange,it's kind of like the hypocrisy at espn,they just did
a story on outside the lines on the oklahoma baseball coach using the
word nigger,and it was brought to public attention by a couple of their
employee's.
this is the same network that let shannon sharpe,lawrence taylor,dusty

that white men were physically inferior to black's,wonder where that
leaves asians,indian's from mexico,asians from india and pakistan,and

publically funded stadium's,with most of the new stadiums being built
with the assistance of eminent domain,most all these stadiums are
single use facilities,so the teams not the cities have control over
them.
ol' georgie was majority owner when they took property from people to
build the ball park in arlington,and not only that they took extra
property for a business park and it's owned by the texas ranger's all
with the help of goverment.they signed alex rodriquez to a 250 million
dollor contract for 25 years,the stadiun cost about 350 million to
build,think they could have gotten a 30 year loan like the rest of us.
you would think an industry that sucked the public tit as hard as mlb
would have to honor people's first amendment rights,i mean isn't
eminent domain suppose to only be used for the public good,what could
be better than free speech,huh.
i voted for turd wad because i thought he was less a turd than
kerry,but he still stinks.
hey back to wsop and that stellar coverage by espn,here's one they can
let go uncensored,if someone catches a card on the river to win a
hand,they could say john "fricken lennon,IMAGINE that,you think
mohammed "the friggin" prophet would go over alright.i don't know,you
know espn is real good about these things,them being a reputable
national television network,and not having double standards.
