While doing a microscopic post-mortem on the forecasts for Saturday's UK
draw, I noticed something which I believe was a huge coincidence (+3.15
SDs worth of huge coincidence!) The forecasts for the next draw do not
exhibit the same characteristics but I'm going to post the top 16
numbers again and hopefully continue to do so until those
characteristics recur.

26th Jan: 46,21,39,26,2,18,44,48,16,45,17,41,1,14,3,38

22nd Jan: 46,21,39,26,20,24,16,2,18,23*,48,45,41,15*,32,34*

(* denotes drawn number)

Still no recurrence of the characteristics that aroused my curiosity. I
get the impression they might be rather rare. Herewith the forecasts for
Saturday's UK Lottery Draw.

29th Jan: 46,21,48,16,2,18,41,44,45,26,39,23,29,32,24,17

26th Jan: 46,21,39,26,2,18,44,48,16,45,17,41,1,14*,3*,38
22nd Jan: 46,21,39,26,20,24,16,2,18,23*,48,45,41,15*,32,34*

If there is a conspiracy, 3.0625 to be exact.
Otherwise, I would guess 6
You may want to consult the Wizard of Odds for a 2nd opinion.

It's very frustrating. I wrote a system to hunt for "due" hot/cold
numbers and I end up waiting to trap an event that may well be extremely
unlikely. If I had time I'd chuck the draw history of a few other
lotteries at it, but I've just finished a painful exercise of
de-adwaring my PC - I somehow picked up one that Symantec don't know about.

I'm not a computer person, but I believe the Microsoft beta anti-spyware
thingy is quite good for that sort of thing:
