Did anyone else like me back Clan Royal in the Grand National?
I can't believe what happened.
My sister also backed the same horse, and as we were watching, I said
to her a couple of fences before the incident that the loose horses
could cause a problem :(
Oh well! There's always next year I guess :~)

Heartbreaking, but I could se it coming a mile off. As they started
the 2nd circuit I kept telling the wife that with so many horses still
standing that a loose horse was going to take one of the fancied
horses out, and as they galloped down to Becher's I was going "oh
shit, here it is", and sure enough.
The sad thing for Tony McCoy is that he checked his horse to get
inside the loose horse to avoid being dragged out and the hoor of a
horse changed his mind and went after the other loose horse.
Still, that's one of the things that makes the National great though,
isn't it?

Yes, I am of the opinion that loose horses should be shot....with a very
large gun. |

Excuse one of your American cousins, but the only Grand National race
most of us have seen was the "PIE's amazing win many years ago ridden
by little liz Talyor. Seen it many times, the race that is. |

when one of them fell over I did see the medics run over to him - doubt it
was serioues though as it probably woulda been on the news. |

Great! ..man that was a tough beat as it appeared the leader was going to be
the winner till he was cut off and blocked by that loose horse. What a
gruelling race though.

Royal Assault would have galloped in that race....he has a future over the
fences |
