So I should just "Put" the 6 or 8 and place 5X odds on the amount of the bet?
Maybe they don't allow (or even know anything about) "Put" bets?

$14 $70
$16 $80
$18 $90

Put Odds Win Place Bet for Put + Odds Win
$5 $25 $35 $30 $35
$6 $30 $42 $36 $42
$7 $35 $49 $42 $49

etc.
The point of this chart is that making a put + 5x odds on the 6 and 8
has the same payoff as placing the number for the same risk.
The big difference is that if you want to take your bet down, you can
take down the whole thing if it is a place bet. With a put bet, you
can only take down the odds portion.
Put buts are only worth doing if you are getting better odds than 5x on
the 6 and 8 or 4x on the outside numbers. |

For the 4 & 10 it depends on how they charge the vig. If you put the 4
with a $5 base bet, you are basically paying a $5 vig when the bet hits,
which means that it would require 20x odds to beat buying it if you've got
normal LV strip rules where you only pay the vig when the bet wins. |

You're right. My previous post was just comparing put bets to place
bets. I didn't factor in buy bets. |
