What is the least amount a person can bet on the big six or big eight at a
$5 mim table?

I go down to Biloxi some times and want to try a few low level bets on the
big six which I know pays only one to one.

The least amount a player can bet is the table minimum, if the bet is
for the player.

Of course, you would have to be crazy to bet $5 on Big 6 or Big 8, when
for a buck more you can make a place bet.

It's a true sucker's bet: make that bet, and it's the same as putting a
"Kick Me!" sign around your neck.

Having said that, I have sometimes thrown a buck on either or both Big
6 or Big 8, making it an even money bet for the boys.

The casino didn't quetion that, and booked the bet.

Not too bad as a $1 toke bet, but I'd still avoid it.

Thanks, I think that at the president they have a one dollar table I will
just go there. I won't go broke very fast at one dollar per bet but I won't
win a lot either.

Granted the Big 6 & 8 are foolish bets, but at places like
the President which almost always has a $1 table - why not?

Get really bold and cover the Hard 6&8 as well.

Bad luck, break even (assuming they hit). Good luck, make
a few dollars on the Hardway bet.

I've seen some casinos with very low minimums take
a stack of 50-cent pieces from a blackjack table and
allow craps dealers to pay $3.50 on $3.00 Big6/Big8 bets.

Why? If it's a $1 minimum, you might as well play the pass line for
1.4%.

No, bad luck, lose them both, which is the most likely outcome.

WHY??? You've obviously never played there.

One shooter in 10 is capable of making the point whereas
you do have a fairly decent shot of getting a win on the
6 or 8

Alan, you get NO, ZERO, NADA, argument from me on that one.
That's why when I play there I stay on the darkside the whole time
and in 8 or so years playing there (off and on - don't get there but
about 6 times a years for long weekends) I have yet to not walk
away with more cash than I started with.

What, are these shooters anti-dice-influencers? >Smile Really, come on.
If nobody can make a point, how can they make a 6 or 8. In any case,
that's just silly.

I don't make a habit of questioning the accuracy of statements by posters,
but I wonder if throwing.dice is confused and didn't really see a $3.50
payment on a $3.00 place 6 or 8 not the "big 6/8" or corner 6/8 as I've
heard them called at some places.
