I saw a player on TV, I think the player was a doctor, suggest Matusow is
schizophrenic. Any truth to this?

Mike made a mistake and has paid for it. He has been released from jail.
Drop the "convict" shit. His behaviour is sometimes questionable, but
that
is EXACTLY what makes people want to see him on TV, not unlike Hellmuth,
or
others.

I've bit my tongue until now. I couldn't believe some moron started a
post
to have the WPT FINE MATUSOW. WTF? Who the fuck do you think you are?
The money in the prize pool doesn't belong to the WPT, it belongs to the
players. The shows are EDITED, and therefore the clips were INTENTIONALLY
LEFT IN, IDIOT!.

Where was all of the outrage when the WPT Costa Rica Show aired with one
of
INTERPOLS MOST WANTED at the final table?! That's right, "Don" Luis
Milanes
was at the final table. The Cuban Mafia leader who scammed $250 MILLION
from investors and split the country with it was aired on the WPT and I
didn't hear word one about anyone "fining" him.

I've had the pleasure of doing play by play with Mike as my "color guy" at
a
WPT event (PPM II) and he was brilliant as a color man. He is an
extremely
good poker player and a lot of you are just flat-out JEALOUS.

While Mike and I aren't "best friends" we are buddies and I think the envy
and jealousy of the "have-nots" is always directed at the "haves" and
guess
what...you aren't the "HAVES". Mike is!

I've never met Mike Matasow nor do I dislike him. However, I cannot imagine
living on the emotional
roller coaster that seems to be his life. He desperately needs some
balance.

I thought Mike was quite entertaining the other night.....Especially when he
started jumping up and down, waiving his arms wildly, with that stupid looking
butt bag flopping around like a limp dick and his pudgy beer-belly bouncing up
and down.....

I'm still chuckling about it........Some things are priceless........

He probably is a nice guy in person but he needs to learn that at the very
least, when he acts like that at the final table of a televised tournament, the
show editors are going to have a field day with his behavior.

Maybe you can mention it to him so he will quit making a fool out of himself on
national TV...

Nobody wants to see this fuck on TV. That's in your imagination. You
probably also think that TV poker ratings would drop if it wasn't for
asswipes like Hellmuth and Matusow.

Morons shouldn't be allowed to post.

I'd try to sell you a clue, but you're most likely broke.

You keep saying these people are envious and jealous. What of exactly? A guy
that seems to have emotional problems? A guy that's been to prison? What
exactly does Mike have that these people apparently envy?

You know tv poker is pantomime. Someone has to be portrayed as the baddie.
You can't call people for thinking badly of Mike when that is what they are
conditioned to think. Your problem should probably be with either Mike or
the tv/media people, not those that watch and are conditioned by it. TV is
powerful. People are dumb and easily manipulated.

Schizophrenics are not really functional in day-to-life. It's highly
unlikely that a schizophrenic would be a successful professional poker
player!

Most of the people who are on here blathering on about Mike Matusow wouldn't
know him on the street if he walked up to them (except those who are very
observant) outside of a poker room setting. It is their delight in his
misery that I'm complaining about. The Schaudenfreud. I guess that better
describes what I mean than envy and jealousy. What I do mean about the envy
and jealousy is they WISH they had the skill, money, and opportunities that
Mike has. They will never even play a $100 buy in tourney, yet delight in
the fact that Mike has some problems. That was what I meant by the have
nots wanting what the haves have. His gift and skill for the game we all
love.

It's the Jim "Romification" of big name players that makes these people
express utter JOY and GLEE in the fact that some of the people they wish to
emulate are actually *real people* aside from what they do for a living. I
like Jim Rome, I actually like his show, and in fact worked with him at 690
in San Diego before he moved up to L.A. His show is entertainment,
although also informative, he likes to "pick fights" with superstars of
sport to entertain, and his millions of "Clones" follow suit. That is what
RGP has become.

I think I totally agree with this paragraph, if you read above. the 5% lead
the 95% in this nation. This is a nation of SHEEP who only believe what
they see on TV, hear on radio, or read in papers and magazines. That is why
BLOGGERS are the new journalists. They have no corporate bullshit to deal
with, they can print what they have found and let the chips fall where they
may. There is a new paradigm in News, Sports, and Info...and it ain't
Broadcast TV, Radio or Corporate newspapers/magazines. I saw this coming in
about 2000 when I left my last "corporate" radio gig.

I'm writing this on Demerol, Lortab and a narcotic cough syrup while I wait
for my pnuemonia to clear up so they can do my FINAL hernia surgery, so if
it seems a bit disjointed or fuzzy, I apologize, but I think you'll get my
points.

It is not kind to kick a man when he is down and trying to get up, but it
seems to me that Mike is doing little to change the public's perception of
him.

As for being a world class poker player... every time I have seen him
playing on TV, I could tell you in advance what he was going to do before
he does it given his hole cards. Since I think I am capable at best, that
is where I put him also... Just a guy that plays better than the 90% of
players that can't play, but not in the top 5% who are making all the
money.

Matusow is just another perpetually broke poker player. I hardly think a
willingness to go broke at any time is a characteristic that I envy.
People like this will never make enough money. They will just increase
the risk until they get busted again.

Mike makes a lot of noise to get attention and then can't understand why
all the attention is negative... A true craftsman does not have to bring
attention to himself, it will come as people admire their work. They
become a circle unto themselves.
