Who knew how good we had it out here in the west? I had a chance to check out a
few AC casinos last weekend and they were all worse than the average LV strip
joint, let alone the good casinos. Both 2 & 12 on the field pay double, which I
don't care about much, and they charge the vig up front on the 4 & 10, which
matters a lot to me. Odds were 3-4-5.

Almost made me regret spending all that money learning how to throw the dice!

How did you like the minimums? The Borgata was running at least one $100
table on Sunday.

Yeah, AC is ruining it for the rest of the Northeast!

I walked through the Borgata and saw that if I wanted to play it would have to
be the $100 table. They had a few cheaper tables that were full. At Trump
Plaza, by comparison, I could always find a $15 table. I'm not even sure they
had anything higher than that.

They spent a lot of money on the Borgata, but mostly so everyone could see how
great they were. At Bellagio I feel a lot more like the expense was for my
benefit. Mostly I think I'm just out of place with the culture in AC.

One major sad aspect of that is how it discourages potential younger players
with smaller bankrolls. No doubt that contributes to the contraction of an
otherwise fine game.

I play in AC, but never on the weekends. I don't like crowds, and higher
minimums make it less attractive to me.

Most AC casinos offer 5X odds. I am aware of the ones that do 3,4,5X odds.
Trump Taj does have a 20X odds table last I checked. I don't bet the
field, so it isn't an issue with me.

However, there are 14 craps pits available in relatively close proximity
in AC. Which is a plus for me.

I find that their games are well run, and the tables are in good
condition. I usually play at $10 tables during the weekday. It does
require a decent bankroll.

AC has apparently had a good deal of influence on the game especially at
many native american casinos. Somewhat more stringent vigs.

Would I prefer to play in AC with the "conditions" that were found in
downtown LV back in the day? Everyone would prefer a low minimum game,
with lower vigs.

But, the AC market is what it is.

I wouldn't characterize the conditions as "poor" however. An inside Place
bet costs the same all over. The games are well run, but I can see why the
less than 5X odds tables could be an issue. The higher minimums are also
an issue for those who play in smaller venues with $2 mins.

The boys have always taken good care of me at the tables.
